Imtrex was built on one idea: the manufacturers behind Turkey's most trusted household names deserve a serious US partner. Since 1999, we've been that partner — family-run, exclusively contracted, and quietly responsible for the bar of Dalan soap on the shelf at your local specialty grocer.
Our story
Imtrex started in 1999 with a single handshake and a single SKU.
A quarter-century ago, a Turkish-American family with ties to Izmir recognized what no US importer had: the personal care brands that Turkish households had trusted for generations — Dalan's cream soaps, d'Olive's olive-oil shampoos, Babyish's pediatrician-approved baby wipes — had no serious path to American grocery shelves. They were stuck in overseas markets, translated poorly by middlemen, and invisible to the US buyer who would have cherished them.
So Imtrex opened a warehouse in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, picked up the phone to Izmir, and went to work.
Twenty-five years later, we are the exclusive US importer of eight Turkish and Mediterranean manufacturer brands. We ship to independent grocers in Brooklyn, regional supermarket chains across New England, distributors in the Carolinas, and restaurants from Miami to Seattle. Our customers stay because the catalog is deep, the ship windows are honest, and the sales line still picks up on the second ring.
We do one thing well — move serious Turkish and Mediterranean manufacturer brands onto serious American shelves.
What makes us different
Personal care and pantry. One supplier.
Most US importers of Turkish and Mediterranean goods specialize in food. Imtrex is the only one that covers both the personal care aisle (bar soap, liquid soap, wet wipes, baby wipes, body care, household cleaners) and the pantry aisle (olive oil, pasta, specialty staples) from overlapping manufacturer origins.
For a buyer, that means one PO, one truck, one sales contact — across two categories that usually require two vendors and two headaches. For an end customer, it means the soap and the pasta on the shelf come from the same Mediterranean heritage we've vetted for 25 years.
